Where we are

Three guesthouses, three apartments and a new opening in November

All our homes are in the Medina of Tunis, the old city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Dar Kenza May welcomes its first guests on 1 November 2026.

How to choose

Guesthouse or apartment: which suits your trip?

Guesthouse

A room in a dar, with breakfast served

Dar Zyne, Dar Dou and Dar Majoul let their rooms individually. Breakfast is served every morning from 8 to 11 am, as a buffet or in the patio. It is the easiest option for a first stay in the Medina: someone welcomes you, gives you tips and can be reached at night.

Apartment

A place of your own, with a kitchen

The three Oukala apartments — Dar Baba, Dar Kenza and Dar Omi — each have a kitchen or kitchenette. They suit travellers who like to shop in the souks, cook and keep their own hours, especially on a longer stay.

Practical information

Arriving in the Medina: cars, luggage and late arrivals

The Medina of Tunis is pedestrian: cars do not drive through its lanes. A few pointers for a smooth arrival.

  • By car or taxi: you will be dropped at one of the gates of the old city and walk the last stretch. We send you directions to your home before you arrive.
  • Airport transfer: our driver can meet you at Tunis-Carthage airport and bring you to the house. He knows the ways into the Medina. Just send us your flight number and arrival time in advance.
  • Luggage: the lanes are paved and sometimes narrow. A sturdy wheeled case or a bag is easy to manage over a few hundred metres; leave the very large trunks at home.
  • Late arrival: check-in is from 2 pm with no latest time. A night receptionist will let you in, even after a late flight.
  • Departure: rooms are vacated by 11 am. If your flight leaves late, tell reception so we can plan the end of your stay.
  • During your stay: the team answers on WhatsApp at any hour, for advice, a taxi or anything in the house.
