The house
The feel of a family home
Dar Majoul was designed as a home rather than a hotel. It has the atmosphere of the great family houses of Tunis: behind its walls is a warm, sociable house where you quickly feel at ease.
The renovation respected the original character of the house. It brought in the comfort you need — heating in winter, air conditioning in summer — without losing what makes it charming: natural materials, local craftsmanship, objects chosen one by one and touches of Tunisian decoration.
The patio is the heart of the house. The three rooms are arranged around it, and breakfast is served there every morning. The shared spaces lend themselves as much to conversation between guests as to a quiet late afternoon, and the roof terrace gives you a little air above the lanes.
With only three rooms, Dar Majoul is the most intimate of our guesthouses. It suits couples, solo travellers and small groups of friends or family who want to experience the Medina from the inside.

Getting to Dar Majoul
Access and arrival
Dar Majoul is in the Medina of Tunis, a pedestrian old town: you walk in, as cars and taxis stop at the gates. We send you directions to the house before you arrive.
Our driver can pick you up at Tunis-Carthage airport and bring you all the way to the house: he knows the ways into the Medina. Just give us your flight number and arrival time. For trips around the city, the inDrive app is widely used; check the driver’s name and number plate before getting in.
Check-in is from 2 pm with no latest time: a night receptionist welcomes guests who arrive late. Check-out is by 11 am.
