The Oukala
Renting an apartment in the Medina
Alongside our guesthouses, the Oukala brings together three apartments let by the night in the Medina of Tunis. The idea is different: rather than a room in a shared house, you have a place of your own, with a bedroom, somewhere to sit and everything you need to cook.
It suits travellers who like to keep their own hours, shop at the market and make their own meals, as well as stays of several weeks. You are not on your own, though: the same team as in our guesthouses welcomes you, answers your questions and can be reached at night.

Dar Kenza
A bedroom, a kitchen and a small Moroccan-style lounge on a mezzanine.
Dar Omi
A bedroom, a sitting area and a kitchenette for a self-catered stay.
Not to be confused: the Dar Kenza apartment at the Oukala is different from Dar Kenza May, our new guesthouse opening on 1 November 2026.

Getting to the Oukala
Access and arrival
The apartments are in the Medina of Tunis, which you explore on foot: cars stop at the gates of the old city. We send you directions before you arrive. For a long stay, choose luggage that is easy to carry through the lanes.
Our driver can meet you at Tunis-Carthage airport and bring you to the apartment; just send us your flight number and arrival time. Check-in is from 2 pm with no latest time, with a night receptionist on hand, and check-out is by 11 am.
